  Norris. S. Walen, 76, died November 28, 1993 at Salem, OR, after a long illness of cancer. Memorial services were held at Howell-Edwards-Doerksen Mortuary. Norris was born March 26, 1917, in Frederick Township, Divide County, ND, to Erick and Marie Walen. He attended Liberty School until 1929 when the family moved to Silverton, OR. He later moved to Salem. Survivors include his wife Florence; seven children; two stepsons; two brothers and a sister. Norris was a cousin of Dave Walen of Alamo, ND and Nina Opsal of Williston, ND.
